250 new COVID cases recorded in Ilocos Region – DOH

An additional 250 new COVID infections were logged in the Ilocos Region from September 18-24, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.

On Tuesday, September 27, the provincial DOH announced that the latest data reflected a daily average of 36 cases, which was 13.5 percent lower than the previous week’s cases.

At least two of the new cases were severe and critical, DOH also noted. Its latest report also showed at least seven deaths due to the virus in the previous week.

In terms of healthcare utilization rate, Ilocos Region remains to be at a “safe” level, with 40 of the 223 intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 patients occupied. Meanwhile, at least 251 of the 1,414 non-ICU beds were occupied, the DOH added.
