Vice Gov Vargas on transfer of Cagayan Capitol from Tuguegarao to Lal-lo: ‘Self-serving’
Cagayan Vice Governor Melvin Vargas called Governor Manuel Mamba’s proposal to transfer the provincial capitol from Tuguegarao City to Lal-lo “self-serving.”
According to a Northernforum.net article, Provincial Planning and Development Officer (PPDO) Elisa Umoso told the provincial board that Mamba’s plan is for the Lal-lo Sub-Capitol to have “bigger and more buildings” because it will serve two districts.
But Vargas said Mamba’s plan is to the “disadvantage” of Tuguegarao City.
The Cagayan politiko also said spending millions for government buildings is “self-serving.”
“Kasi hindi po naming kaya dito sa Sangguniang Panlalawigan na ipaprayoridad po yung sarili. It will be self-serving,” Vargas said.
“Marami pa pong kailangang gagawin dito sa probinsya ng Cagayan hindi po yung pagpapaganda po ng mga opisina po natin. The office can exist even though there is no upgrading,” he added.#
