Toff de Venecia: National ID System to ease transactions
Pangasinan 4th District Representative Christopher De Venecia said that the signing into law of the National Identification System will ease transactions in the country.
The Pangasinan politiko is a co-author of the law.
De Venecia said the law will create PhilSys, which is “a unified national information database of Filipino citizens and alien residents of the Philippines.”
“With only one physical identification card that contains basic and biometric information, the ease of transacting shall be greatly improved,” he explained.
“One may use it in applying for government benefits such as SSS, GSIS, Philhealth; for employment purposes; for school applications; for obtaining a passport; for opening bank accounts and for many other transactions that require a government issued ID,” De Venecia added.
