Sumi-senti! Gov Marcos: Mount Samat has special spot in family memory

Apr 12, 2018 @ 11:08

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos said her recent visit to Mount Samat for the 76th Araw ng Kagitingan commemoration has a “special spot in our family’s memories.”

The Ilocos Norte politiko said the visit got her all sentimental.

“One of the first acts of my father when he came to office in 1966 was to declare Mount Samat as a national shrine thru Proclamation No. 25,” Marcos said.

“This place has a special spot in our family’s memories because President Marcos himself was a veteran who survived the Death March,” she added.

But the former dictator’s Medal of Valor received in World War II has been disputed as fake.
