Para-paraan lang! Imee says names of Fariñas’ projects also personal: May RUDIF, Ria
Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos on Wednesday (August 9) defended her multimillion-peso pet project afted Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas claimed it had a lump sum appropriation of P57 million.
At the continuation of the House investigation on the alleged misuse of Ilocos Norte’s tobacco excise taxes, Marcos said the provincial council signed an ordinance in 2010 creating “P-Imee,” or the Programang Ikauunlad ng Mamamayan, Ekonomiya, at Ekolohiya.
She said she wasn’t alone in using “trendy” names for projects since Fariñas also has programs named after him and a daughter.
“May RUDIF din yan, yung Rural Urban Development Infrastructure Fund,” she said.
“Meron pa ngang RIA e. Siyempre pinapauso lang sa atin,” she added, referring to the name of Fariñas’ daughter.
In response, Fariñas said his projects did not involve lump sum funds.
“Sa P-Imee kasi, daan-daang milyon po ang napunta diyan,” he said.
