Pangasinan town’s OIC Police Chief insists raids on barangay captains legitimate

The officer-in-charge Chief of Police of the town of Balungao in Pangasinan said that the series of raids conducted against the barangay captains and other personalities were legitimate and not politically motivated.

Police Senior Inspector Raymund Nicolas said that the raids against concerned parties were duly covered by search warrants issued by the courts.

He said that he did not have a hand in compiling the watch list used in Oplan Double Barrel .

Nicolas also denied that the guns and ammunitions found in the possession of barangay captains were planted.

He, however, did not comment on allegations that the series of raids were politically motivated.

“Ayaw ko pong mag-comment sa bagay na yan, anuman ang meron sila ay ayaw kong makialam, police po ako at ginagawa ko po ang trabaho ko,” said Nicolas.

Nicolas is a son-in-law of Patricia Revita a possible contender in the 2019 election for municipal mayor of Balungao.

Revita lost to incumbent mayor Philipp Peralta in 2013.
