P25M provincial evacuation center to rise in Nueva Vizcaya

Jul 4, 2017 @ 17:34

Nueva Vizcaya Governor Carlos Padilla has announced the construction of a P25-million Provincial Evacuation Center (PEC) at the back of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan building.

The Nueva Vizcaya politiko said the PEC will improve the provincial government’s disaster risk reduction efforts since the province is prone to landslides and flash floods during the rainy season.

The two-storey PEC building will house the offices of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the Office of Civil Defense.

It will also have a 67-bed infirmary, eight rooms, two toilets, pharmacy, laundry, kitchen, drying area, and storage area.

“The construction will start next week, which will be jointly supervised by the DPWH and the Provincial Engineering Office,” Padilla said.
