There will be no necrological rites for Batanes Rep. Henedina Abad at the House of Representatives, according to an advisory from the Office of the Speaker.

Abad was the wife of former Budget Secretary Butch Abad and member of the Liberal Party. She was serving her third term at the House

Instead of necrological rites at the House, the wake will be held at the Ateneo College Chapel starting Wednesday with daily mass at 8 p.m.

A send-off Mass will be held at the Church of Gesu at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Abad passed away on Sunday after succumbing to cancer at the age of 62.

“Dina, as she was known to family and friends, devoted her life to the cause of the Filipino people, and she did so with passion, conviction, and integrity until the end. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on the night of October 8, 2017,” her office said in a statement.

She will be laid to rest in Batanes, the province she loved and served so faithfully. She is survived by her husband, former Budget Secretary Butch Abad, and their children, Julia Andrea, Pio Emmanuel, Luis Andres, and Cecilia Paz.
