Mayor Rivera: Aran Cave to be closed temporarily

Jul 25, 2018 @ 16:57

Tuba Mayor Ignacio Rivera said that the municipal government has ordered the temporary closing of Aran Cave because of the rising water level inside.

The Benguet politiko said the move aims to prevent any untoward incident to spelunkers and visitors.

Rivera said the municipal government prioritizes the safety of both residents and visitors.

“We do not want to compromise the safety of our residents and visitors alike that is why we immediately ordered the temporary closure of the Aran cave as soon as we learned that water level in some critical portions of the cave started to rise because of the continuous heavy downpour that has prevailed over our region for several number of days now,” he explained.

Aran Cave was recently opened by the municipal government as an added tourist attraction for Tuba.
