Mayor Fernandez warns against selling dead milkfish after fishkill in Pangasinan

Jun 13, 2018 @ 13:28

Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez warned vendors against selling dead “bangus” or milkfish following a massive fishkill in several areas in Pangasinan.

Around 24 tons of milkfish died in Bolinao and Anda.

Fernandez said criminal charges will be filed against those who will sell “tangok” or dead milkfish.

Some traders supposedly sold tangok for only P32 per kilo.

The Dagupan City Health Office said consumption of dead milkfish might result in allergic reactions as well as food poisoning.
