Mayor Domogan to vendors: Stop fighting or I’ll shut down night market

Jul 17, 2017 @ 15:16

Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan has threatened to shut down the night market at Harrison Road if problems among the vendors are not resolved.

Domogan said he has received reports of vendors fighting in the night market.

The Baguio night market has become an attraction in the city where around 1,000 vendors selling used clothes, souvenirs, electronics, kitchenware, and jewelry converge at Harrison Road every night.

The city government collects a nightly regulation fee from the vendors.

There are plans to relocate the night market to a more permanent site but Domogan’s threat to shut it down has derailed it.
