Mayor Domogan seeks review of Baguio traffic plan for holiday season

Dec 7, 2017 @ 14:58

Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan is seeking a review of the Summer Capital’s traffic plan during the holiday season.

The Baguio politiko said he does not want a repeat of the traffic congestion experienced by Baguio due to the influx of tourists during the 3-day holiday during the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit last November.

Domogan said hotels in Baguio are already fully booked for the holiday season.

“We were really caught by surprise by the sudden influx of motorists from the lowlands last Monday which resulted to heavy traffic congestions all over the city,” he said.

“We were informed that there were more or less 40,000 motor vehicles that flocked to the city during the 3-day holiday that is why we encountered serious problems that time. We want to minimize the said problem by making the necessary adjustments which our police officers should do for us to enjoy the Yuletide break,” Domogan added.
