Mayor Domogan eyes solar panels for Baguio government buildings

Aug 7, 2018 @ 14:36

Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the city government is eyeing the use of solar panels in its buildings and facilities.

The Baguio politiko said the move is in line with their efforts to lessen the city government’s power consumption expenditure.

Domogan said they are planning to bid out a P33-million solar power project that will cover the city-owned swimming pool area.

The energy generated from solar power will help heat up the pool for various trainings and competitions.

Solar panels are also eyed to be installed at the proposed multi-level parking building near the Baguio City Fire Department.

“We want to pilot-test solar power in the local government structures to convince people on the use of renewable energy not only for their own consumption but also for the needs of their businesses and empower them to use environmentally-friendly renewable energy,” Domogan said.
