Mayor Domogan: Draft constitution, autonomy bill won’t create Cordillera security force
Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the Consultative Committee’s draft constitution and the Cordillera autonomy bill both do not provide for a regional peacekeeping force.
The Baguio politiko made the statement following a recent Regional Development Council (RDC) meeting.
Domogan said it is not true that once Cordillera becomes an autonomous region or federal region, security will be handled by a regional force.
He also said the RDC is not asking for a separate security force.
“I am sorry if there were those who were deceived by some groups promoting themselves, recruiting members enticing people to join and will become the regional security force but it is not true,” Domogan said.
