Matthew Manotoc urges Ilocos Norte to ban plastic
Ilocos Norte Board Member Matthew Manotoc called on the province to ban the use of plastics.
The Ilocos Norte politiko made the statement during the 31st Founding Anniversary Culmination Program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) last July 6.
Manotoc vowed to file an anti-plastic ordinance.
“I am very grateful to the DENR for reminding us because we are already seeing the damage of single-use plastic,” Manotoc added.
He said the change must come from him.
“It made me realize: I can’t stand up here and tell you to stop using plastic if I myself use it,” he said.
“Together, we can make Ilocos Norte truly liveable, sustainable, and a greener province,” Manotoc added.
