Leopoldo Bataoil disappointed with Karlo Nograles over non-action on WWII vet pension measure
Pangasinan 2nd District Representative Leopoldo Bataoil said he is disappointed that his proposed measure seeking to increase the pension of World War II veterans is not being prioritzed in the House of Representatives.
The Pangasinan politiko said his bill has been stuck in Davao City 1st District Representative and Appropriations Committee Chairperson Karlo Nograles’s panel.
Bataoil wants to raise the veterans’ pension from P5,000 to P20,000 a month.
He said there are only less than 8,000 veterans left.
“Despite our efforts, together with my colleagues in the committee, the bill is not being given a chance to pass in the committee on appropriations,” Bataoil said.
