Kalinga denies overpricing in Capitol bathroom stall renovation

Dec 6, 2017 @ 18:49

The Kalinga provincial government denied the renovation of the provincial capitol’s bathroom stalls were overpriced.

In a statement, the Kalinga provincial government denied there was corruption in the project.

This after a viral Facebook post by Catholic priest Father Gaby Ballawig alleging that the renovation of the four male bathroom stalls in the first floor of the provincial capitol were overpriced by P2 million.

Ballawig cited a transcript of an anonymous government employee detailing the allegations.

His post also included photographs of dirty toilets as well as various parts of the bathroom stalls in disrepair.

“There is no truth to claims that the funding has been corrupted and that the project itself is overpriced,” the Kalinga provincial government statement said.

The Kalinga Provincial Engineering Office also said the project was worth P1.8 million and not P2 million.

It added that the project also included the renovation of other bathrooms in the provincial capitol.#
