Imelda Marcos found guilty of 7 counts of graft, ordered arrested
Ilocos Norte 2nd District Representative Imelda Marcos has been convicted of seven counts of graft by the Sandiganbayan.
The Ilocos Norte politiko has been sentenced to prison for 6 years and 1 month to 11 years for each case for transferring around $200 million to seven Swiss foundations during her term as a member of the defunct Batasang Pambansa and as then Minister of Human Settlements.
Marcos is also perpetually disqualified from holding public office.
The Sandiganbayan 5th Division also issued a warrant of arrest against her.
Marcos can still appeal her conviction.
Graft is also a bailable offense.
