Ilocos Norte holds ‘The North Remembers Forum’ on Ferdinand Marcos 100th birthday celebration

The Ilocos Norte provincial government, in celebration of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos’ 100th birth anniversary, is holding lectures on September 8 and 9 about the different aspects of his presidency.

The academic discussion, dubbed “Marcos 100 Forum: The North Remembers,” will be held at the Mariano Marcos State University.

The North Remembers Forum will tackle national identity and culture, Marcos’ foreign policy and rule of law, the Marcos-era economy, and institution-building through the barangay unit.

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee R. Marcos said the forum will be “dap-ayan style” or the older generation teaching the younger generation.

The North Remembers Forum is the first of a series of lectures on Marcos during his centenary year.
