Heritage expert: Marcos family made me believe Paoay Museum project was private project

Oct 9, 2017 @ 17:39

A top heritage expert said Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos duped him into thinking his work for the development of the Paoay Museum was for a Marcos family project and not under the provincial government.

Eric Zerrudo, during a House hearing into the alleged misuse of Ilocos Norte’s tobacco funds, claimed he did not know the work he did for the Paoay Museum was for the Ilocos Norte provincial government.

Zerrudo said he thought the project was fully funded by the Marcos family.

The Ilocos Norte provincial government said Zerrudo’s company was the winning bidder for the Paoay Museum project but he said his signatures were forged.

“The idea that it was a family project was reinforced because I was paid in cash in the end. I would have been more inclined to believe it was a government project if I had a check from Landbank or PNB,” Zerrudo said.#
