Gov Pacalso confident marijuana plantations won’t reemerge in Benguet
Benguet Govenor Cresencio Pacalso said illegal marijuana plantations in the province will not reemerge after President Rodrigo Duterte handed the keys of his war on drugs to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) from the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The Benguet politiko, a supporter of the medical marijuana bill, said marijuana propagation for medical purposes will be limited.
Pacalso said he is confident PDEA will close monitor drug personalities and former marijuana plantation sites.
Pacalso earlier voiced his support for Benguet’s application as a medical marijuana producer should the proposed measure become law.
He vowed that there will be no massive conversion of agricultural lands into marijuana plantations.#
