Gov Espino urges gov’t offices to use updated Pangasinan seal
Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino III has ordered government offices to use the updated provincial seal.
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) recently modified the design and symbolism of Pangasinan’s official seal in accordance to the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines.
“All chiefs/heads of office/hospital and all employees are hereby enjoined to adopt/use the new seal of the province recommended by the NHCP in all their letterheads, calling cards and other official usages deemed appropriate/necessary effective immediately,” Espino said.
Among the featured symbolisms in the revised seal are the Capitol building in Lingayen, sailboats in blue background, milkfish, bricks, and salt-cooking to indicate the main sources of livelihood in Pangasinan.
The year 1580, the year when Pangasinan was created as an alcadia mayor, is also featured.#
