Gov Espino to Robredo: Check your stats
Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino III called out Vice President Leni Robredo for calling the province as one of the poorest in the country.
Robredo, during her speech at the London School of Economics (LSE), included Pangasinan in the 20 poorest provinces of the Philippines since 2004.
She cited a recent study by Ateneo School of Government Dean Ronald Mendoza.
“The Vice President should have checked her data carefully before branding provinces like Pangasinan as among the poorest,” the Pangasinan politiko said.
But according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in 2015, Pangasinan is one of the top 25 richest provinces in the country.
