Gotchu fam! Imee Marcos reveals what she’s doing for OFWs in Middle East

Ilocos Governor Imee Marcos is part of the Philippine delegation who accompanied President Rodrigo Duterte in his trip tot he Middle East.

In a Facebook post, the politiko explained what she did in Saudi Arabia to help the thousands of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) based there.

Marcos said that 61% of Ilocos Norte residents received remittances from OFWs in Saudi Arabia.

“Maraming kuwento ng pangaabuso, kahirapan ng trabaho, di kaya ay niloko ng recruiter at hirap na dinadanas ang ating mga kababayan dito,” said Marcos.

She then said that she is currently in talks with the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Ministry of Labor, Philippine Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello, and ACTS-OFW Representative John Bertiz to determine what else can be done to address the plight of Ilocano OFWs.

“Tayo po ay nakikipagugnayan na sa mga kinauukulan at kasangga natin si Pangulong Duterte upang sa lalong madaling panahon ay maibigay ang suweldong hinhintay ninyo,” said Marcos.
