The former vice mayor of Calasiao town in Pangasinan province was found dead in his bedroom on Saturday morning (April 1), apparently after suffering a stroke, according to Calasiao Mayor Joseph Arman Bauzon.
Suicide and foul play has been ruled out by the police in this incident.
Galang served as a three-term councilor in Calasiao before he was elected vice mayor in 2004.
After a nine-year political lull, he ran and won as vice mayor in the May 2016 elections, but he resigned, citing personal reasons.
