Exempted si Duterte! Mayor Domogan OKs anti-profanity ordinance
Baguio City has banned swearing in selected institutions.
This after Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan approved the city’s anti-profanity ordinance.
The new measure bans profanity in schools, computer shops, arcades, and other business establishments frequented by the youth.
It said that profanity has “already penetrated schools and educational systems, business establishments, and society as a whole, that even the very fabric of morals and human decency has deteriorated to such a degree that we have to prevent it before the damage would become irreparable.”
This means non-students, including President Rodrigo Duterte, can still swear in these establishments.
Students, meanwhile, can be expelled if they violate the new ordinance.
