Ex-barangay chairperson challenges Imelda Marcos for Ilocos Norte Gov

Oct 22, 2018 @ 15:15

A former barangay captain is challenging Ilocos Norte 2nd District Representative Imelda Marcos for provincial governor in the 2019 elections.

The Ilocos Norte politiko was supposed to run uncontested for governor until Jesus Arimbuyotan, former chairperson of Laoag City’s Barangay Bengcag, filed his certificate of candidacy before the deadline closes on October 17.

Marcos was eyeing to replace her daughter, Imee Marcos, as governor.

Her grandson, Matthew Manotoc, is her running mate.

The incumbent governor, meanwhile, is running for senator.
