Duterte to Cabinet members: Make presence felt in Northern Luzon during Typhoon Ompong
President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered some of his Cabinet members to go to some Northern Luzon provinces to make his “presence” felt during the onslaught of Typhoon Ompong.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, who hails from Isabela, made the suggestion to Duterte.
“I said I think the President should designate at least 6 Cabinet members in the calamity-affected areas. Your presence must be felt there,” Bello said.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, meanwhile, will go home to Cagayan.
“The most accurate way to find out what happened is for Tugade to go home there now and watch their own province,” Duterte said.
