Duterte signs law upgrading Bayombong’s Veterans Regional Hospital

Oct 24, 2018 @ 15:52

President Rodrigo Duterte has signed Republic Act 11081 which upgrades the Veterans Regional Hospital (VRH) in Bayombong from a 200-bed to 500-bed capacity facility.

The new law also renames the facility into the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center.

The law was authored by former Nueva Vizcaya Representative Luisa Cuaresma in 2016.

VRH Chief Cirilo Galindez said the upgrade of the hospital will be done within three years.

“We are grateful for the approval of this act from the Congress, Senate and President Duterte. This will further improve our health services for the benefit of our patients,” he said.

“RA 11081 will also pave the way for our filling-up of many crucial medical positions. This will redound to our improved and efficient delivery of health services especially for the poor,” Galindez added.
