DOH to open satellite drug rehab center in La Union
The Department of Health will soon open a satellite center for drug treatment and rehabilitation in La Union province in Northern Luzon.
DOH Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center chief administrative officer Raymund Basbas said the DOH set aside P50 million for the facility.
Basbas said the center will be a two-floor building situated in Barangay Parian in San Fernando City, La Union (http://northboundasia.com/2018/04/05/satellite-doh-rehab-center-soon-to-open-in-la-union/).
Once completed, he said, the satellite center can accommodate up to 50 female residential or in-house clients.
“It will have an administrative office, dormitories, covered court and other kiosks,” he said.
The government has been building rehabilitation centers for drug users, as part of its anti-drug war.
President Rodrigo Duterte’s anti-drug war has gained controversy for supposed extra-judicial killings of suspected drug pushers.
