The race for mayor in Sta, Maria, Pangasinan is shaping up to be a sons of an incumbent mayor and a former mayor.

A Politiko source said incumbent mayor Teodoro ‘Teddy’ Ramos, who is on his third and final term, would field his son Julius to run for mayor.

Julius Ramos is a former president of Liga ng mga Barangay of Santa Maria and sat as ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Bayan.

On the other hand, former mayor Jose ‘Choy’ Ginez will be fielding his son Argin for mayor too.
Argin Ginez is an incumbent member of the Sangguniang Bayan.

Ramos had thumped Ginez in a previous election for mayor.

Santa Maria was in the news during the country’s hosting of Miss Universe. One of the bets, Miss New Zealand Tania Pauline Dawson, said her mother Margarita Palabay traced her roots in the town.
