BLISST pushes for ‘carless day’ in November

Oct 12, 2017 @ 13:14

The Baguio-La Trinidad-Itogon-Sablan-Tuba-Tublay (BLISTT) Airshed Governing Board is eyeing a carless day in November to celebrate Clean Air Month.

Environmental Management Bureau-Cordillera Director Reynaldo S. Digamo said BLISST officials will visit different municipalities to urge them to implement a carless day in their areas.

“We want to give emphasis to the celebration of the Clean Air Month by implementing a carless day in the BLISTT to underscore the urgent need to embrace efforts that will significantly reduce pollutants in the air,” Digamo said.

Digamo also said if the carless day proposal is approved, it will serve as a benchmark on implementing the project for a longer period.

Several carless day proposals are also pending evaluation in Baguio City.
