BLISST Board urges LGUs to implement ‘Carless Day’

Aug 21, 2018 @ 13:17

The Baguio-La Trinidad-Itogon-Sablan-Tuba-Tublay (BLISTT) Airshed Governing Board once again urged local government units in the area to implement a “Carless Day.”

This after Sablan Mayor Arthur Baldo began the implementation of a Carless Day every first Thursday of the month.

The Carless Day project aims to reduce air pollution in BLISTT.

Environmental Management Bureau-Cordillera (EMB-CAR) Regional Director Reynaldo Digamo said the implementation of a Carless Day will also promote the importance of taking care of the environment.

Digamo said that while Sablan is already implementing their own Carless Day, it is only Baguio City that has put in place an ordinance for it.
