Benguet politikos push for transfer of Benguet General Hospital to DOH

Jan 8, 2018 @ 22:07

Benguet politikos have filed a resolution pushing for the takeover of the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) by the Department of Health (DOH).

Board Members Johnny Waguis, Ruben Paoad, Jim Botiwey, and Fernando Balaodan said the move will allow provincial government to distribute the annual P40-million subsidy for the BeGH to Benguet’s six district hospitals.

DOH Assistant Secretary Roger Tong-an earlier made the suggestion when he visited the province.

“The transfer of the management in the operation of BeGH to the DOH is not actually a plan by the provincial officials but it is a suggestion made by Asec. Roger Tong-an when he came to Benguet as our guest speaker, he incinirated that it will be beneficial to the province of Benguet,” Botiwey said.

“According to him the DOH has necessary funds and support to operationalize the BeGH,” he added.
