Baguio to share engineered sanitary landfill with BLISTT municipalities

Jun 14, 2018 @ 10:30

Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan on May 28 said the city government will share its planned engineered sanitary landfill (ESL) in Itogon with other Benguet towns.

The Baguio politiko said La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay can use the ESL.

Domogan said this will enable the Benguet municipalities to address their waste problems.

The ESL site will also feature a material recovery facility, anaerobic digester, special waste treatment plant, medical and toxic waste treatment plant, waste-to-energy plant, and environment recycling system machines.

Domogan earlier asked Benguet Corp. to increase the 24-hectare area it is leasing the Baguio city government so the ESL can also accommodate other municipalities.
