Baguio seeks creation of Consumer Welfare and Protection Council
The Baguio City Council is seeking to create a Consumer Welfare and Protection Council.
Baguio City Councilor Leandro Yangot Jr, in his proposed ordinance, said the council shall recommend and implement the city’s programs for the effective and efficient promotion of protection, support and welfare of consumers.
It will also tasked to plan and implement activities in support of the observance of the National Consumer and Protection Week.
The council will also enforce the price tag and other fair trade laws.
The proposed measure comes after the tax reform law began its implementation last month.#
