‘Bato’ gets kickass Bontoc nickname. Find out what

Philippine National Police Chief Ronald dela Rosa is widely known by his nickname “Bato” or “stone,” but a visit to Bontoc, Mountain Province earns him another one.

Mountain Province Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr gives Dela Rosa a new monicker – “Moling” – which means “firm” or “unbreakable” during his adoption as son of the province during the Lang-ay Festival last April 7.

“Moling” can also mean a hard and smooth river boulder.

Aside from the new nickname, Dela Rosa also received an Igorot blanket or “pinagpagan” of the kadangyans, a spear or “tubay,” a shield or “kalasag,” and a headgear or “suklong.”

Dela Rosa thanked the provincial government for attaining a drug-free status.
